About Ann Harth
Ann Harth lives in a small wooden house on a large green hill in Far North Queensland.
She shares her life with her family and various forms of orphaned or injured wildlife.

Although she has played with words for many years, necessity encouraged her to write
outside of money-earning hours.  Until her career took off, she waited tables, worked in
nursing homes, bar tended, picked strawberries and punched keys on various tills. She
also spent ten years working in various capacities with children with special needs. She
is now a writing tutor for Cengage Education.

Ann has ghostwritten several ebooks and articles. She enjoys research and learning
and is willing to take on almost any subject.

An open and direct relationship between editor and author is crucial to the production
of strong work that fulfils the needs of the writer. Honesty is essential, but sensitivity is
necessary. Ann Harth's life experiences and work in the behavioural sciences have
taught her interpersonal communication skills that are vital to an editor and her clients.

As a full member of the Australian Society of Editors, Ann  has access to on-going
professional training and will be up-to-date on the current standards for editing practice.
She is technically proficient in on-screen as well as hard copy editing and is practiced
in MS Word.

Ann Harth is a twenty-year resident of both the USA and Australia which puts her in the
unique position of being familiar with the cultural and language differences between
these countries. This allows her to Americanize and Anglicise writing with ease.

Ann has specific experience with copy and structural editing, extensive rewrites and
proofreading of:

  • children’s fiction and non-fiction
  • adult fiction and non-fiction
  • magazine articles
  • memoirs
